Kaitlyn Jolly

Dancer

Kaitlyn Jolly was born in Boston, Massachusetts and is a lover and lifelong student of dance. She’s studied Capoeira Angola, samba and other Afro-Brazilian dances since 2002 in the US and abroad, and has been performing since 2007. Kaitlyn earned a bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. Austin Samba has been a creative home to her since 2009, where she dances, choreographs, costumes and leads an Afro-Brazilian dance wing, or Ala.  Shortly after joining Lannaya in 2013, Kaitlyn began designing and building costumes for Lannaya, and her costumes can be seen in the 2013 production of African Spirit. Kaitlyn has performed with Marcus Santos’ Bloco Afro Brazil, Austin Samba, The Generic Ensemble Company in the 2012 production of The Experiment, and Austin Shakespeare in the 2013 version of A Winter’s Tale.  She has recently fulfilled a career-long dream of parading during Carnaval in Rio de Janeiro with Estação Primera de Mangueira, a widely known and respected samba school.
