Musical Journey
Brock has been immersed in music for nearly his entire life, mastering a wide variety of instruments and honing his skills as a highly experienced vocalist. In recent years, his focus has shifted primarily to percussion, with a particular passion for West African and Brazilian drumming in traditional drum and dance contexts.

Performance and Contributions
With decades of experience performing and collaborating with musical groups and projects, Brock has been a key figure in the West African drum scene since the 1990s. He was a founding member of Lannaya Drum and Dance Ensemble, which emerged from that vibrant community. Brock is also a current and past member of Austin Samba, a community ensemble celebrating Brazilian music and dance traditions.

Teaching and Community Engagement
Brock is an accomplished educator, sharing his knowledge and passion for drumming with students of all ages. He served as a Teaching Artist in Austin elementary schools through Roots & Rhythms Austin, a program dedicated to bringing drumming education to local youth. He has also provided private instruction in West African drumming. Additionally, he has performed with Drum Cafe, an organization specializing in interactive drumming experiences for groups ranging from elementary school students to major corporations.
